Anjali Bhagwat (English: Anjali Bhagwat, born 5 December, 1969, Mumbai, Maharashtra) is a famous female shooter of India. His full name is ‘Ajnali Veda Pathak Bhagwat’. He made a splash by winning many medals in the 2002 Manchester Commonwealth Games. She came into limelight by winning 4 gold medals in individual and pair events in these games. He was given the ‘Arjuna Award’ in the year 2000 and the ‘Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award’ in the year 2003 for his achievements in the 2002 Commonwealth Games. He received this award jointly with Binamol. Apart from this, Anjali Bhagwat has also received ‘Chhatrapati Award’, ‘Maharashtra Gaurav Award’ and ‘Maharashtra Prestige Award’.

Anjali Bhagwat was born on 5 December 1969 in a Marathi family in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Anjali Bhagwat started her shooting career from NCC of Kirti College, Mumbai. As a cadet of. Her former name is Anjali Ved Pathak. She got a place in Maharashtra Rifle Association by becoming a cadet as a student. Never looked back after that.[1]

Anjali came to the shooting field quite suddenly. Once suddenly while studying in Kirti College, N. Had to participate in C.C.’s Inter-Collegiate Shooting Competition, because the cadet of the school participating in it had fallen ill. Since Anjali was a green belt in Judo-Karate and an active student in mountaineering, she was asked to participate in his place. Initially Anjali refused, but she had to participate. Their targets kept missing one by one, and that too not by inches but by meters. When she started leaving from there, Maharashtra Rifle Association President B.B. Ram saw her and explained something to her and requested her to try again. Actually there was a need for some women in the state team. Craving to travel to other places, Anjali started participating in shoots and joined the new group. In just ten days he learned a lot and won the national silver medal. This boosted Anjali’s morale and she decided not to leave the shooting. It is from here that India’s shooting star Anjali Ved Pathak was born.

In 1988, Anjali participated in the National Games held in Ahmedabad. In the year 2000, Anjali became the second Indian woman to reach the Olympic final in the Sydney Olympics. Before that, Flying Angel P.T. Usha was the only Indian athlete who could reach the finals of the Olympics. Anjali Bhagwat won the silver medal in the World Cup finals in Munich. In the year 2002, Anjali was chosen as the world’s number one ranked player. Apart from this, he won the title of Champion of Champions by winning the men’s and women’s competition in the same year. Anjali won four gold medals in the Commonwealth Games in 1998 and 2001. The credit for his success goes to his coaches. Coach Sanjay Chakraborty and Hungarian coach Laszlo Suzak taught Anjali the intricacies of the game and helped her achieve success.[1]

Anjali’s husband Mandar Bhagwat gives her full support. Seeing Anjali’s beautiful features, offers for advertisements and films also came to her house. Anjali says about this, Malayalam film director Jayaraj called me and said that he has a script for a film for me. I laughed it off. I don’t have time to shoot films, I am busy with my shooting.” Anjali was married to Mandar in the year 2000. Anjali said that at the time of marriage, Mandar was happy that my wife works from 9 to 5. That’s why I was excited. After three meetings, I went out for the championship and then I was scared. How will I recognize Mandar at the airport? Although Anjali’s husband does all the household work well, he wants his wife to remain in the limelight and bring glory to the country.

Anjali Bhagwat is working as Inspector under sports quota in Central Industrial Security Force. Anjali is confident that one day the game of shooting will also become popular among the audience like cricket. Anjali is the first female shooter to make it to the finals in the 2000 Sydney Olympics. In the final, she stood last among the eight contestants by scoring only 493.1 points. She regularly practices yoga, mental exercises, breathing exercises and shooting practice. She feels proud to be a woman. Anjali says- “Rifle shooting is a mental game and your success mainly depends on your psychological balance.”

In 1992, Anjali was given the Shiv Chhatrapati Award.[1]
In 1993, Anjali was honored with ‘Maharashtra Gaurav Award’.
Kashaba Jadhav Award was given in the year 2001.
In the year 2002, Anjali was given the “Young Achiever” award by the American Society.
In the year 2003, he was given the ‘Maharashtra Pride’ award.
In the year 2000, Ajnali was given the most ambitious award – ‘Arjuna Award’.
ISSF According to the rating, Ajnali has been at 10m for a long time. Got number one position (Rank 1) among women in air rifle competition.
In 2002, Ajnali won the silver medal in the Sydney World Cup with a score of 397/400.
In the year 2002 itself, in the Atlanta World Cup, Ajnali improved her record and won the silver medal by scoring 399/400.
Anjali won a silver medal in the Munich World Cup 2002 and by winning the medal, Anjali achieved the distinction of being the first Indian shooter to win this medal.
Anjali was declared “Champion of Champions” for the year 2002. She was selected for this award in women’s, men’s and mixed categories of air rifle.
In January 2002, Ajnali equaled the world record and won four gold, seven silver and one bronze medals in the Den Hague Air Weapons Championship.
In the year 2000, she became the first Indian shooter to reach the Olympic final in her first attempt at the Sydney Olympics.
Won 4 gold medals in the Manchester Commonwealth Games in 2002. He received these medals in individual and pair events (air rifle, small bore rifle three position).
‘Samsung India’ sponsored him for the Olympics.
In 2005, she was nominated as the Hero Honda Sports Academy Shooting Player of the Year 2004.
In the Commonwealth Games held in Melbourne (Australia) in 2006, Ajnali won a silver medal in the pairs event.
