Shambhu Border, 8 December (IANS). Farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher reacted to Punjab Police stopping the media from covering the farmers’ movement and said that the Bhagwant Mann government is working at the behest of the Centre. The face of Punjab government has been exposed.
Let us tell you, farmers are raising slogans outside the police post on Shambhu border. They demonstrated against the police stopping media vehicles. On Saturday night itself, a letter was written by Haryana Police to Punjab Police asking them to stop the media one kilometer away from the border.
Speaking to IANS on this matter, Sarwan Singh Pandher said, “We are with the farmer laborers. Bhagwant Mann and Kejriwal used to say that the Modi government is forcing the farmers. We are with the farmer laborers. But today Punjab The face of the government has also been exposed. On the instructions of the Centre, the Chief Minister himself should come forward and explain why the media is being stopped.
He further said that there is no fault of the media. Even media has no freedom in this country. Therefore today the face of Punjab government has been exposed. First we will have to deal with them, after that we will also talk about the future strategy. We will wait for the government to speak and then make our strategy.
While giving further update on this matter, Pandher said that he has talked to the police on the matter of stopping the media and the SSP has assured to resolve his issue.
Pandher said, “The SSP said that we wanted to brief that the media should take care of itself. The media persons said that your lower officer has misbehaved. The SSP has said that we will explain to our officer. The SSP said that we want Take care of yourself while doing media coverage.”
Pandher further said that we also stood for the media and we want the media to do its coverage.
Apart from this, Pandher told that the program of Delhi march has been kept at 12 o’clock on Sunday. Regarding being stopped by the police, Pandher said that what will be our strategy will be decided after the meeting. The group of 101 farmers will leave as before.
At the same time, due to the farmers’ march to Delhi, concrete arrangements have been made on all the borders of Delhi. Making special arrangements, Delhi Police has put up tents on the rooftops at Tikri border and barricades have also been installed on the border along with containers.
