Ranbir Kapoor playing the role of Ram in Ramayana
Ranbir Kapoor, who was last seen in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film ‘Animal’, is now going to be seen in Ramayana Part 1 directed by Nitish Tiwari. In the film, he will play the role of Lord Ram, while Sai Pallavi will play the role of Sita. Recently the actor participated in the popular event Red Sea International Film Festival 2024 in Jeddah, where he talked about ‘Ramayana’ for the first time and described it as his dream role. Ranbir also revealed about Animal Park that the team is currently working on the script of the film and the shooting will start soon.

Ranbir Kapoor said, ‘The film I am currently working on is Ramayana which is going to be the best story till date. My childhood friend Namit Malhotra, who is making this film with so much passion, has also made preparations for its worldwide release very well with the help of all the amazing actors, creative people and crew of the world. Apart from this, Ranbir also talked about playing the role of Lord Ram and told that he has completed shooting for the first part of ‘Ramayana’. He also said that the second part will go on floors soon. Ranbir further said, ‘Just to be a part of this story, I am very grateful to play the role of Ram. This is a dream for me. This is a film which has everything that teaches us about what Indian culture is, family dynamics and what a husband-wife relationship is like.
When will Ramayana 2 be released?
Meanwhile, ‘Ramayana Part: 1’ is scheduled to release in 2026, while the second part will hit the theaters in 2027. Although the official cast of the film has not been revealed, Yash has revealed that he will play the role of Ravana and Ravi Dubey will play Lakshman in Ramayana Part 1. Earlier, several pictures from the sets of ‘Ramayan’ had gone viral on social media, in which Ranbir and Sai were seen as Lord Ram and Sita.
