10 main points of PM’s speech
– Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the journey of 75 years of the Constitution is memorable. This is a moment to celebrate. It is a matter of pride for me that this Parliament is also expressing its feelings by participating in this festival. He said that the achievement of 75 years is not ordinary. The citizen of India has passed every test and deserves congratulations. India’s democracy has been very prosperous. Has been inspiring to the world. That is why India is today known as the Mother of Democracy. He said that we are the mother of democracy.
– He said that Rajarshi Purushottamdas Tandon had said that after centuries, once again such a meeting has been called in our country, which reminds us of our glorious history. When we used to be independent, meetings were organised, discussions were held among scholars.
– He said that India’s democracy has been very prosperous. It is deeply rooted in our culture and tradition. India’s democracy has inspired the entire world. Democracy has given us the strength to overcome every challenge and move forward.
– PM Modi mentioned the Nari Shakti Vandan Act and said that this Act will prove to be a milestone for women. Women have had the right to vote in India since the beginning. There is a continuous increase in the number of women in Parliament also. Referring to the economy, PM Modi said that India is progressing rapidly today. India will soon become the third largest economy in the world. This achievement is the result of the hard work and determination of us Indians.
– PM Modi said that after independence, distorted mentality and selfish politics has hurt the unity of the country. There is a need to remain united to overcome these challenges. He said that there is a tradition of celebrating diversity in our tradition and culture. He said that Article 370 was hindering the unity of the country, hence we have worked to remove Article 370. Congress has continuously disrespected the Constitution and reduced its importance. He said that everyone knows Article 370, but Article 35A was imposed in the country without bringing it in Parliament. He said that if Article 35A had not been imposed, Jammu and Kashmir would not have been in this situation. He has misled the country.
PM Modi said that when the Constitution was completing 25 years in the country, the Constitution was snatched away. Turned the country into a prison and took away the rights of the citizens. He said that this is a sin on the part of Congress which can never be washed away. He said that Congress has ruined the imagination of the makers of the Constitution. He said that it is the power of the Constitution which has taken many people to this point. He said that becoming Prime Minister not just once but three times is not possible without the power of the Constitution. He said that there were many ups and downs in the country, but the people faced every challenge and strengthened democracy.
PM Modi made a sharp attack on Congress and said that the same family has ruled the country for 55 years. During this period, the Constitution has been continuously attacked. He said that in 1951, when there was no elected government, Congress brought an ordinance and changed the Constitution. He said that the work which Congress could not get done in the Constituent Assembly, was done later from behind. He referred to a letter by Jawahar Lal Nehru, which was written to the Chief Ministers. He had said that if the Constitution comes in our way then it should be changed. He mentioned another incident and said that regarding a sin being committed at that time, President Dr. Rajendra Prasad had also said that it was being wrong. During that time the Lok Sabha Speaker had also said that something was going wrong, but no one was listened to. These incidents show how Congress violated the limits of the Constitution.
– He said that the Constitution was changed 75 times in 6 decades. He said that the seeds sown by the first Prime Minister of the country were taken forward by Indira Gandhi. He made the 39th amendment in 1975. It was he who made such a provision in which no one can go to court against the election of the President, Vice President, Speaker and Prime Minister. Not only this, Rajiv Gandhi also worked to carry forward the same tradition which was started by Jawahar Lal Nehru and carried forward by Indira Gandhi. Rajiv Gandhi sacrificed the spirit of the Constitution due to vote waning and bowed before the fundamentalists. Not only this, Congress appointed a National Advisory Council above the Prime Minister, which became even higher than the PMO. They had become in the habit of playing with the Constitution. An arrogant person had torn the cabinet decision in the Parliament. After this the cabinet changed that decision.
