Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana 2.0: The central government led by Prime Minister Modi has brought PM Awas Yojana 2.0. In this, people will be given financial assistance to build houses. PMAY 2.0 was approved by the Union Cabinet on August 9, 2024 for economically weaker (EWS) and middle class families in urban areas. 1 crore new houses will be built under this scheme. According to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Rs 2.30 lakh per unit will be sanctioned. Under this scheme, 1.18 crore houses were approved in the last phase in urban areas. More than 85.5 lakh houses have been constructed and handed over to the beneficiaries. The scheme will be implemented across India in various sectors like Beneficiary Led Construction (BLC), Affordable Housing in Partnership (AHP), Affordable Rental Housing (ARH) and Interest Subsidy Scheme (ISS).
