Nagpur, December 15 (IANS). Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said on Sunday that after the cabinet expansion, the division of departments will take place in the next two days. This will be done after intensive talks between the Mahayuti partners including BJP, Shiv Sena and NCP.
Addressing a press conference in Nagpur on Sunday on the eve of the winter session of the state legislature, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said, “Cabinet portfolios will be decided in the next two days.”
He said that this issue has already been agreed upon between the three parties and it will be resolved without any problem.
Both Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar were also with him.
Fadnavis said, “We have worked on giving an all-inclusive council of ministers. We have given representation to all communities, women and regions. As far as the BJP is concerned, we have decided to give new responsibilities to those removed ” Apart from the distribution of departments, the issue of allocation of district guardian ministers is also pending. Fadnavis said that this is not an urgent matter and it will be resolved when the time comes.
Before the expansion of the state cabinet, Shiv Sena and Nationalist Congress Party leaders had discussed key departments like Home, Urban Development Department, Revenue and Housing. Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena wanted the Home department first, while the NCP wanted housing as well as industry.
Fadnavis assured that the government will not suppress the opposition on the basis of numbers.
“We will not suppress the voice of the opposition and will not shy away from any discussion. We expect that unlike the Lok Sabha, the opposition should speak inside the House and not just in front of the media,” he said.
The opposition on Sunday boycotted the tea party organized on the eve of the winter session of the state legislature. In a letter sent to the government, it has raised the issues of allegations of malpractices regarding the use of EVMs, violence in Parbhani over the desecration of the statue of Babasaheb Ambedkar and the subsequent search operation by the police and the murder of a sarpanch in Beed district. .
Fadnavis said, “The opposition is trying to create a story about EVMs. But I want to tell them that EVMs mean every vote for Magnetic Maharashtra and this is what our government is all about. We will try to fulfill it. ”
He responded to the opposition’s allegations on the incidents in Parbhani and Beed. Fadnavis said, “SIT has been formed in connection with the Beed incident. No accused will be spared. No matter who the accused is. The SIT will investigate and every aspect will be resolved.”
He mentioned that a mentally unstable person insulted the idol. He said, “This government considers the Constitution supreme. We will not do a single thing against the Constitution and we will also keep the Constitution in highest respect.”
He said the violent protests that followed the incident were not permitted in the Constitution and anyone involved in stone pelting or vandalism would not be spared.
