The bill related to ‘One Nation One Election’ has been introduced in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday during the winter session of Parliament. Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal has presented this bill. Modi government has said that this bill will be sent to the Joint Parliamentary Committee i.e. JPC for comprehensive deliberations. Opposition parties have expressed strong opposition to the amendment bill related to One Nation One Election. At the same time, now Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray has also expressed his opinion on this issue. Uddhav Thackeray has said that first there should be an election of the Election Commissioner in the country.

What did Uddhav Thackeray say?

Shiv Sena (UBT) chief and former Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray, who reached Nagpur to participate in the winter session, said – “The talk of ‘One Nation, One Election’ should be discussed later, first the election commissioner should be elected. If the President is elected. If the Election Commissioner can, then he should remove them. Once he gets that much majority then no one will question him.”

269 ​​votes in support and 198 votes against

‘One Nation One Election Bill’ was introduced in the Lok Sabha with the provision of holding Lok Sabha and Assembly elections simultaneously. After protests by opposition MPs, voting was conducted to accept this bill. There were 269 votes in support of the bill and 198 votes against it.
