A total of 24 Ekadashi fasts are observed in a year. There is a tradition of worshiping and fasting on this day. The date of Ekadashi is dedicated to Lord Vishnu.
Performing puja on this day brings immense blessings of Shri Hari. The Ekadashi falling in the month of December is known as Saphala Ekadashi which is the last Ekadashi of the year 2024. Saphala Ekadashi will be celebrated on 26 December this year. So today we are telling you which tasks should be avoided on this day.
Date and time of Saphala Ekadashi-
According to the Hindu calendar, this year the Ekadashi tithi of Pausha month will start on 25th December at 10.29 pm. The same date will end at 12:43 am on 26th December. In such a situation, the fast of Saphala Ekadashi will be observed on 26th December. It is beneficial to worship Lord Vishnu on this day. Apart from this, the Parana of Safala Ekadashi fast is done on the next day after sunrise, hence the Parana of Ekadashi fast will be done on 27th December. On this day, the auspicious time for Parana is from 7.12 am to 9.16 am.
Don’t do this work even by mistake-
Let us tell you that you should not consume rice even by mistake on any Ekadashi, doing so is considered inauspicious, it leads to bad results. Avoid consuming lentils, gram and non-veg on this day. Apart from this, do not eat food in bronze utensils. One should avoid lying on this day. One should not gamble. One should also stay away from feminine matters. Eating salt and food is considered prohibited on Ekadashi date. Do not eat food twice even by mistake on this day.
