San Francisco: US President-elect Donald Trump has decided to appoint Indian-American capitalist Sriram Krishnan as Senior Policy Advisor on Artificial Intelligence (AI). Making an announcement in this regard, Trump said, “Shriram Krishnan will work as a senior policy advisor on AI in the ‘White House Office of Science and Technology Policy’.” Trump announced several appointments related to AI on Sunday. . Krishnan has previously led product teams at Microsoft, Twitter, Yahoo, Facebook and Snap and will work with David O. Sachs.

Donald Trump said, “Along with David, Shriram will focus on ensuring America’s dominance in the field of AI. He will also help shape and coordinate AI policy by working with the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology.

Sriram Krishnan expressed happiness at his being nominated for the post. He said, “I am honored by the opportunity to serve my country and work with David to maintain America’s dominance in the field of AI.”

The Indian-American community has welcomed Krishnan’s nomination.
