An 11-year-old innocent girl, who was raped after being kidnapped in an industrial area in Gujarat’s Bharuch district, died on Monday evening in a government hospital in Vadodara after fighting for her life for a week. The officers provided this information. Hospital officials said the victim had suffered serious internal injuries in the rape, following which she was shifted to SSG Hospital in Vadodara after first aid at Civil Hospital in Ankleshwar, an industrial town in Bharuch district.

Dr. Hitendra Chauhan, Resident Medical Officer of SSG Hospital, said, “The girl suffered a heart attack at around 2 pm, after which her condition deteriorated. Although his condition became stable after treatment, he suffered another heart attack at around 5:15 pm. Doctors gave her immediate treatment, but she was declared dead at 6:15 pm.” He said the minor girl’s condition deteriorated when sepsis (a life-threatening reaction due to infection or injury) started developing in her body. It spread throughout his body, causing his organs to stop working and leading to a heart attack.
According to the police, last Monday (December 16) the girl was playing near her hut when she was kidnapped by an employee working in an industrial area. Police said he took her to nearby bushes and raped her. After this the accused left the girl there in an injured state and ran away.
Accused resident of Jharkhand arrested
A day after the case, the police had arrested the 36-year-old accused, resident of Jharkhand. In Jharkhand, a three-member delegation led by Congress leader Deepika Pandey Singh, a minister in the Hemant Soren government, visited the hospital in Vadodara last week and met the victim and her family. He also targeted the Gujarat government regarding migrant labourers. He also gave a check of Rs 4 lakh to the victim’s family. Gujarat Health Minister and government spokesperson Hrishikesh Patel said that Congress is politicizing a serious crime like rape. (with language inputs)
