New Delhi. Even though the sun is shining now, the cold has increased. The weather may worsen in many states of the country in the next few days. This warning has been given by the Meteorological Department. Meteorological Department scientist Dr. Naresh said that it has rained in the Delhi-NCR area in the last few days. Due to western disturbance there was rain in this area. He said that the temperature may drop by about 2 degrees Celsius in the next few days. The meteorologist said that winds will also come from the Bay of Bengal by 27-28 December. Due to this, there are chances of light rain in Central India. He said that on December 27, hail may also fall at many places in Madhya Pradesh, Western UP, Himachal Pradesh and Central India.

Due to western disturbance, there is continuous snowfall in the hilly states. The temperature has dropped below minus 20 degrees Celsius in many areas of Ladakh. At the same time, in many high altitude areas of Himachal Pradesh the temperature is being recorded at 10 degrees below zero. Snowfall is also occurring in Srinagar and other areas of Jammu and Kashmir. Due to this, the temperature everywhere is 4 to 5 degrees below zero. Snow is falling at many places in Uttarakhand also. Due to the activity of Western Disturbance, there are chances of more snowfall in all these states. Snowfall in the hilly states increases the cold in the plains. Besides, the cold also increases every year due to hailstorm and rain.
The Meteorological Department has already told that this year the cold will be very severe. This is because of the effect of La Nina. Due to the activation of La Nina effect, the sea surface temperature becomes lower than that of the land. Especially the formation of La Nina conditions in the Pacific Ocean affects the weather in India. Due to the effect of La Nina, this year’s monsoon season saw more than average rainfall.
