He used to write under the name Ghalib, which means winner. She was married to Umrao Jaan or Umrao Begum at the age of 13. She was the niece of Nawab Ilahi Bakshi of Firozpur Jirka. After marriage, Ghalib came to Delhi and lived there for the rest of his life. Despite living in Delhi for almost 50 years, he never built his own house. Always stay in a rented house.

It is said that Mughal life had a good influence on Ghalib. Yet he never let it be known. Although he mentioned someone’s love in his letters but did not take anyone’s name.
He shared his grief by writing a letter to his rival
Experts say that another great poet of that period was Hatil Ali Mehar. He also liked Mughal life. Both Mehar and Ghalib used to attend the gathering of Mughal Jaan. It is also said that Mughal Jaan had told Ghalib that she liked him as well as Hatim Ali Mehar. Despite this, Ghalib never showed any rivalry with Hatim Ali Mehar. Mughal Jaan died at a young age. Both Ghalib and Mehar were sad about this. At such a time, Ghalib himself wrote a letter to Meher and shared his grief with her.

The policeman said that the day I see him playing, I will arrest him. By then Ghalib had left from there. Such an all-rounder Ghalib left this world forever on 15 February 1869.
