Heavy rain in Delhi-NCR

The cold has increased due to intermittent rains in Delhi-NCR. People’s problems have increased due to changing weather conditions. The coldest day of the season was recorded on Friday in rain-ravaged Delhi-NCR, while snowfall in the hilly areas has increased the cold. However, the tourists who came to celebrate New Year were seen enjoying the snowfall.

Highest rainfall in Delhi in 15 years

On Friday, Delhi-NCR recorded the highest rainfall in December in the last 15 years. The Meteorological Department said that the rain started around 2.30 pm on Thursday and continued throughout the day. According to Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) data, the city recorded 9.1 mm rainfall in the last 24 hours till 8.30 am on Friday.

The highest rainfall in December was in 1884

Based on the data available on the Meteorological Department’s website from 2009 to 2024, a total of 42.8 mm rainfall occurred in December, which is the highest rainfall in this month in the last 15 years. Meanwhile, the highest rainfall ever recorded in December was in the year 1884, when the city received 134.4 mm of rainfall.

Chances of rain in these states even today

There are chances of rain in many states including Delhi-NCR even today. The Meteorological Department said that there will be dark clouds in the sky in Delhi-NCR, Western Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab today. There will be light rain during the day. The average minimum temperature in Delhi-NCR today is likely to be 9 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature is likely to be 18 degrees Celsius.

Weather will be clear in Delhi tomorrow

According to the Meteorological Department, the weather in Delhi-NCR will be clear tomorrow. There will be bright sunshine during the day. It will be colder on Sunday than on Saturday. On Sunday, the average minimum temperature of Delhi can be recorded at 8 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature can be recorded at 19 degrees Celsius.

There was an alert of rain in these parts early Saturday morning

At the same time, today the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) late night has predicted moderate to heavy rain at many places in Delhi (Palam, Safdarjung, Lodi Road, IGI Airport, Mehrauli, Chhatarpur, Ayanagar, Deramandi), NCR (Gurugram, Faridabad, Manesar). There was a possibility of lightning strike.

Tourists enjoying snowfall in Himachal

Along with light rain, snowfall is also occurring in Himachal, Kashmir and Uttarakhand. A large number of tourists have reached the mountains. All the tourists are enjoying snowfall in Himachal in December.

Rain alert in UP, Haryana and Delhi-NCR also

The Meteorological Department wrote on Friday night, ‘Yamunanagar, Jhajjar, Farrukhnagar, Hodal of Haryana, Saharanpur of Uttar Pradesh, Gangoh, Deoband, Muzaffarnagar, Sakoti Tanda, Baraut, Daurala, Baghpat, Meerut, Modinagar, Kithore, Nandgaon, Rajasthan. There was a possibility of rain in Tijara, Alwar and Delhi-NCR around 4 am.

Clouds rained in Haryana and Punjab also

At the same time, it rained at many places in Punjab and Haryana on Friday, due to which the day temperature dropped drastically at both the places. The maximum temperature in hailstorm-hit Chandigarh was recorded at 15.9 degrees Celsius, which is eight degrees below normal for this season.

Temperature dropped due to rain

According to the Meteorological Department, it rained in Amritsar, Ludhiana, Patiala and Pathankot in Punjab. The maximum temperatures recorded at these places were 13.7, 14.8, 14.6 and 15.2 degrees Celsius. It also rained in Ambala, Hisar, Karnal, Rohtak, Sirsa and Gurugram of Haryana, where maximum temperatures were recorded at 14.8, 14.5, 13.4, 15.2 and 15 degrees Celsius.
