Delhi Imams Warns Stir: Delhi Imams Warns Stir against Arvind Kejriwal of aam admi party as not getting due salary

New Delhi. Imams associated with Delhi Waqf have warned of protesting against Aam Aadmi Party convenor and former CM Arvind Kejriwal from Monday. Maulana Sajid Rashidi, President of All India Imam Association, has said that if the issue of outstanding salaries of Imams associated with Delhi Waqf is not resolved by Sunday, then all the Imams will protest outside Arvind Kejriwal’s house. After failing to meet Arvind Kejriwal, Maulana Sajid Rashidi on Saturday said that he is being made to run here and there for the outstanding salaries. He said that 20 days ago, Delhi CM Atishi had assured that the 17 months’ outstanding salaries of the Imams associated with Delhi Waqf would be paid within three-four days, but this did not happen. Listen to what Maulana Sajid Rashidi said.

#WATCH Delhi: Waqf Imam Maulana Sajid Rashidi says “20 days ago, we met Delhi CM Atishi, she asked to wait 3-4 days, and she would release our salaries. We asked Gopal Mohan to arrange a meeting with Arvind Kejriwal because he may be able to do what Atishi cannot. But that also… https://t.co/mOFteARl7M pic.twitter.com/iKFshDVehw

About 250 Imams are associated with Delhi Waqf. They are given a salary of Rs 18,000 every month. Imams associated with Delhi Waqf say that they have not received salaries for 17 months. He says that it has become difficult to meet household expenses. There is difficulty in raising children. You must have understood by listening to the statement of Maulana Sajid Rashid above that how the promise of paying the outstanding salaries is not being fulfilled and even when Arvind Kejriwal went to his house, the Imam could not meet him. Earlier, the group of Imams under the leadership of Maulana Sajid Rashidi had been waiting for a long time to meet outside Arvind Kejriwal’s residence on 26 December. All of them are upset due to being made to run here and there and the issue of outstanding salaries not being resolved.

Assembly elections are to be held in Delhi in February 2025. There are many assembly seats in Delhi where Muslims decide victory and defeat. In such a situation, if the issue of outstanding salaries of Imams is not resolved, then it can also become an issue against Aam Aadmi Party in the assembly elections. The date of Delhi Assembly elections is likely to be announced in the first week of January. In such a situation, the Imam is saying that if the due salary is not received before then, the matter will get stuck and then they will have to wait longer.
