Prayagraj: CM Yogi will unveil Bio CNG Plant in Naini

Prayagraj, Amrit Vichar: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is coming to Prayagraj once again on Tuesday. After which he will also review the preparations for Mahakumbh in the ICC Auditorium with the officials. During this time, CM Yogi will also unveil the Bio CNG plant in Naini. Along with this, he will also inspect Sangam Airavat Ghat, Sangam Nose Ghat as well as the steel bridge built parallel to Ganga Setu. In the past, CM Yogi Adityanath has also visited Prayagraj on 7 December, 12 December, 13 December and 23 December.

Let us tell you that CM Yogi will reach DPS Prayagraj helipad at around 11.55 on Tuesday and from here he will go directly to Naini Bio CNG Plant. Where he will unveil the ambitious project Bio CNG Plant in Naini. From here the CM will also inspect Sangam Airavat Ghat and Sangam Nose Ghat. After this, the CM will review the progress of Mahakumbh with the officials from 1.20 pm to 2.20 pm in the ICCC auditorium of Prayagraj Fair Authority. After this, after doing on-site inspection of various routes, he will inspect the steel bridge built parallel to Ganga Setu and then leave for Wapal Lucknow from Police Line Helipad.

The plant will produce 209 tonnes of organic fertilizer with 21.5 tonnes of gas every day.
The bio-CNG plant to be inaugurated in Naini will produce 209 tonnes of organic fertilizer along with 21.5 tonnes of gas per day. In Prayagraj city, 200 tonnes of wet waste is generated every day from homes, hotels, restaurants and temples. Now Prayagraj Municipal Corporation is going to earn Rs 53 lakh annually from this waste. That means, the same vegetables, fruits, flowers or plants which were once thrown away will now produce 21500 kg bio-CNG and 209 tonnes of organic fertilizer every day. The total capacity of this plant is 343 tonnes per day production. Every day the plant will produce 21.5 tonnes of bio-CNG along with 109 tonnes of solid organic fertilizer and 100 tonnes of liquid organic fertilizer.

In the first phase, the work of making bio-CNG from municipal waste of 200 tonne capacity has been completed. The work of making gas from the remaining 143 tonnes of paddy straw and cow dung is in progress. This bio-CNG plant will be operated through PPP model. For this, Prayagraj Municipal Corporation has given 12.49 acres of land near Arail Ghat in Jahangirabad, Naini. The plant will be operated by Ever Enviro Resource Management Private Limited. For this, a contract has been signed between the Municipal Corporation and the company for 25 years. After this the company will hand over the operation of the plant to the Municipal Corporation. At present, about 1250 units of electricity can be consumed every day for the operation of this plant.

The environment will also benefit
By converting organic waste into energy through the plant, about 56700 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions can be reduced every year. This diversion of waste from landfills further helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions. This plant has been built at a cost of about Rs 125 crore. Bio-CNG from this plant will also be supplied to industrial and retail customers in Uttar Pradesh including Prayagraj.

The project will generate employment opportunities for approximately 200 persons. Once fully operational, the plant will provide direct employment to about 25 workers, while indirectly providing work to over 100 people. Apart from this, it will also contribute to local economic development. Prayagraj Municipal Corporation Commissioner Chandra Mohan Garg said that the establishment of this bio-CNG plant will generate income for the corporation. Also, 200 tonnes of wet waste can be disposed of every day. The plant will prove to be a milestone in the direction of improving air quality.
