A case of rape of a nurse has come to light in the district. The victim has accused a person working as a lab technician in the health department of rape. The victim alleges that the accused lab technician raped her for 21 years on the pretext of marriage. At the same time, after the complaint of the victim, the police has arrested the accused lab technician. It is being told that the accused lab technician raped the victim for the first time when she was 15 years old.
Actually, the 36-year-old nurse had filed a petition against the accused Chintamani Sharma (59) in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Sabiha Khatoon. Hearing the petition, the CJM on Thursday ordered the police to register a case against the accused. After this, a case was registered at Suryava police station on Friday under sections 376 (rape), 427 (misbehavior) and 323 (causing hurt) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the accused was arrested from Varanasi.
Bhadohi Superintendent of Police Meenakshi Katyayan said that the accused and the complainant live at the same place. The accused came close to the girl on the pretext of helping her in studies. At that time the girl was 15 years old and lived with her family in Varanasi district. Sharma allegedly raped her after threatening her and continued having sexual intercourse with her for a long period of time, the officer said. “Sharma continued to sexually exploit her by promising marriage, she secretly married someone but continued to cheat on him and maintain a relationship with him,” she said.
Also accused of assault and sabotage
SP Meenakshi Katyayan told that after completing her studies, the complainant took up the job of a nurse on contract. He was posted at the Community Health Center and was also allotted a quarter. Sharma, posted in Varanasi, used to come to Bhado and have physical relations with the complainant. When the nurse talked about marriage, he allegedly misbehaved with her, beat her up and vandalized her house, the SP said. Katyayan said, ‘Sharma was arrested from Varanasi on Friday. The nurse has been sent for medical examination and her written statement will be recorded in the court soon.
