Kolkata, January 1 (IANS). On the occasion of New Year, a huge crowd of people gathered in Park Street area of Kolkata. Kolkata Police has made special arrangements to ensure that no accidents happen during the night-long revelry.
People who came to visit Park Street told that they come here every year on New Year’s Eve and welcome the New Year at 12 o’clock in the night.
A woman says she wants to spend time with her family and friends, enjoy good food and have fun. New Year is like a festival which we like to celebrate every year. Our officers are doing a very good job, they have made all the security arrangements. We really thank the Kolkata Police officers, who are doing their duty, protecting us and providing security till late night.
South Division Deputy Commissioner of Police Priobrata Ray said that complete security arrangements have been made here. We have implemented a fool-proof security system for every visitor who comes to enjoy the 31st. Police personnel are deployed here on a large scale and many senior officers have been deployed. Additional forces have been deployed to tighten security at night. A Mahila Squad is also present for the safety of women and there will be extensive police patrolling in the entire area.

This year has been one of trials and triumphs that we have faced together, the people of Bengal.
