There was tremendous demand for Mahindra vehicles even in the month of December. According to the information given by the company, its total auto sales in the month of December 2024 were 69768 vehicles, which is an increase of 16% including exports. Mahindra sold 41424 vehicles in the domestic market, a growth of 18% and overall, including exports, sold 42958 vehicles. Domestic sales of commercial vehicles stood at 19502. According to Vijay Nakra, President, Automotive Division, M&M, we sold 41424 SUVs, a growth of 18%, and 69768 total vehicles, a growth of 16%, in December. The year ended on a high note as we became the only Indian auto company to achieve Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) World Leader status within the auto sector.
Audi India sales declined
German luxury car maker Audi said on Wednesday that its retail sales will decline by 26.6 percent year-on-year to 5,816 units in 2024 due to supply chain problems. The company had recorded retail sales of 7,931 units in 2023. Audi India chief Balbir Singh Dhillon said in the statement that the first half of 2024 brought supply-related challenges for Audi India. Despite this, the continued demand for the products reflects the unwavering faith our customers have in the brand. Our volumes improved 36 percent in the fourth quarter compared to the third quarter of 2024 with better supply in the second half of 2024. On the 2025 outlook, he said the company expects further sales growth after finishing 2024 strongly in the fourth quarter.
MG Motor India sales jump
JSW MG Motor India’s sales in December 2024 increased by 55 percent year-on-year to 7,516 units. JSW MG Motor India said in a statement that the company recorded its highest ever electric vehicle sales in December. NEVs (new energy vehicles) accounted for more than 70 percent of total sales, including only 3,785 units of the crossover utility vehicle Windsor.
Bajaj Auto sales declined in December
Bajaj Auto’s total sales in December 2024 declined by one percent year-on-year to 3,23,125 units. The motor vehicle manufacturer informed the stock market that the company had sold a total of 3,26,806 units in December 2023. Total sales of two-wheelers last month stood at 2,72,173 units, which is four percent less than 2,83,001 units in December 2023. Domestic two-wheeler sales declined 19 percent to 1,28,335 units in December 2023, compared to 1,58,370 units in December 2023, the company said. Exports of two-wheelers stood at 1,43,838 units last month, which is 15 percent more than 1,24,631 units in December 2023.
