Dense fog in North India has slowed down the speed of trains considerably. Due to this, a large number of trains are running late. Due to dense fog on Saturday, 49 trains originating from Delhi and coming to Delhi were running late. Most trains are running late by three to six hours. For this reason the timing of 10 trains has been rescheduled. Dense fog was seen in the capital Delhi on Friday also. Due to heavy fog for two consecutive days, trains are not able to deliver passengers on time. On Friday, Vande Bharat from New Delhi to Banaras was started at 9 pm instead of 3 pm. Similarly, many Rajdhani trains also left with a delay of several hours.

The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert in Delhi-NCR. According to the Meteorological Department, there is little chance of getting relief from the dense fog till Sunday. Due to dense fog, more than 400 flights are running late at Delhi Airport.
