Human metapneumovirus (HMPV) has created panic in the world. Questions are beginning to arise in people’s minds whether once again a havoc like Corona is going to wreak havoc on people. The world has not yet completely recovered from the Corona epidemic that this new virus named HMPV has scared people. Four cases have been reported in India. Two cases have been found in Karnataka, the third case has been reported in Ahmedabad, Gujarat and the fourth in Kolkata.

Government tightens its belt regarding HPMV

Seeing the worsening situation in the country and the world, the Central Government has now become completely alert. Guidelines are being issued to the officials. An advisory has been issued by the Health Department for the people regarding HMPV. This advisory tells what people should do and what they should not do. After the arrival of HMPV in India, the Health Ministry has said that there is no need to panic about it. This virus is already present in India. At present, the Health Ministry is monitoring the entire matter and people have also been advised to take precautions.

What is said in the advisory?

The advisory asks hospitals to file real-time reports for all types of respiratory infectious diseases. Also, these cases related to Severe Acute Respiratory Infection have been asked to be immediately entered in the portal of Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme. The advisory said that all cases of severe acute respiratory infection and all cases of influenza should be listed in the IHIP portal. According to the advisory, hospitals have been asked to ensure that whenever any such suspected patient comes, arrangements are made for their isolation and their treatment is done on priority basis with immediate effect. It should also be ensured that the infectious disease does not spread to others. Hospitals have been asked to coordinate with private hospitals to ensure correct reporting and treatment of infectious diseases. The safety of the patient should be ensured in every situation and there should be no inconvenience for treatment in hospitals. According to the advisory, CMOs of all hospitals have been asked to store paracetamol, antihistamine, bronchodilator, cough syrup in the hospitals for mild symptoms so that there is no shortage of these.

Helpline number released

It has been said in the advisory that proper hygiene should be taken full care of the disease. Apart from this, ensure in advance that there is no shortage of ventilators for serious patients. Keep doctors and paramedical staff prepared in every way. The government has also created a helpline number for this. The helpline number is –helpline no. of DGHS,HQ – 011-22307145 or 011-22300012

Fourth case found in Kolkata

At the same time, a 5 and a half month old girl suffering from HMP virus in Kolkata has recovered. He was undergoing treatment in a private hospital. After recovering, she has returned to Mumbai. On November 12, a girl resident of Mumbai was admitted to a private hospital in Bypass. She came to Kolkata from Mumbai by air. He was having fever and difficulty breathing. After this, when her condition worsened, the girl was admitted to the hospital where she was found infected with HMV virus. The girl recovered after 10-12 days of treatment, after which she returned back to Mumbai.

What did the doctor say?

The child’s doctor friend, Saheli Dasgupta, said that in the last six months, this girl was HMVP virus positive in December. Apart from this, one or two such cases had come to him last year also. There is nothing to fear from this virus. He said that if the patient gets treatment, he will recover in 10 to 12 days. must be careful. Those who have high immunity in their body are less likely to get infected.
