Entertainment News Desk!!! A. R. Rahman (English: Allahrakka Rahman, born: 6 January 1966) is a famous musician. His full name is ‘Alla Rakha Rahman’. Rahman, the king of tunes, has given music in films of many other languages besides Hindi. Rahman inherited music from his father.
Birth
Rahman was born on 6 January 1966 in Madras, India. His father’s name is R. Of. Shekhar and mother’s name is Kasturi. His childhood name was Dilip Kumar, which later became A. after converting to Islam. R. Rehman is done.
Childhood
At the age of 8, his father R. Of. Shekhar died and his family faced financial crisis. Somehow he managed to survive by renting musical instruments. The situation became so bad that his family had to convert to Islam. Rahman converted to Islam in the 70s.
Education
Rahman received his early music education from Master Dhanraj and at the age of just 11, Rahman started playing keyboards (synthesizer) for the band Roots with his childhood friend Shivmani. He used to work for Ilayaraja’s band. Rahman started recording songs for the first time in 1991.
career
In his early career, Rahman gave his music as jingles in some TV advertisements and serials. His biggest success came in 1992 when famous director Mani Ratnam offered him the music for his film ‘Roza’. After this he never looked back, for this film he was also honored with the ‘National Film Award’ that year.
