Delhi Assembly Election 2025: In the Delhi Assembly elections, the main contest is being considered between Aam Aadmi Party, BJP and Congress, but some small parties and independent candidates can also become a problem for these three parties. Owaisi is also preparing to field his candidate from Jangpura assembly seat from where AAP has fielded its veteran face and former deputy CM of the state, Manish Sisodia.

Due to lack of alliance between Aam Aadmi Party and Congress in Delhi Assembly elections, BJP already seems to be in an advantageous position and now with Owaisi’s party contesting on Muslim dominated seats, BJP may get a chance to strengthen its position. . AIMIM has already announced candidates for two assembly seats in Delhi. Owaisi has given ticket to Delhi riots accused and former Aam Aadmi Party councilor Tahir Hussain from the Muslim-dominated Mustafabad assembly seat. Owaisi has fielded Shafaur Rehman Khan from Okhla against AAP leader Amanullah Khan. Experts say that Owaisi can also give ticket to another accused in Delhi riots, Shahrukh Pathan.

Tahir Hussain has dominance in his area and is considered a strong candidate from Mustafabad. Tahir Hussain’s election campaign is being commanded by his son Shadab. Shadab said that my father has been accused of Delhi riots but no evidence has been found against him yet. He has got bail in 9 out of 12 cases. We have full faith in the justice system of the country and we are hopeful that he will get bail in the remaining cases also.
He said that my father worked hard for 10 years to strengthen the Aam Aadmi Party but when the need arose, the Aam Aadmi Party left us. No party leader came to even ask about our tears. Expressing displeasure over AAP’s attitude, he said that we are contesting elections on the issue of development and we expect support from the people of Mustafabad.
Owaisi preparing to contest elections on 10 seats
Apart from Tahir Hussain, Owaisi has fielded Shafaur Rehman Khan from Okhla Assembly seat. Rehman is also accused of Delhi riots and is lodged in Tihar jail for five years. Rehman is the president of Jamia University Alumni and is also considered a strong candidate. AIMIM’s Delhi state president Shoaib Jamai says that our party can field its candidates on 10 assembly seats in Delhi. We are busy brainstorming for strong candidates and soon the names of all the party candidates will be announced. Experts say that the party may declare candidates on January 10. Nomination for Delhi Assembly elections is to start from January 10 itself.
Owaisi will spoil the game of Sisodia and Gopal Rai also
In Delhi, the seats where Owaisi is preparing to field candidates include Mustafabad and Okhla, apart from Jangpura, Babarpur, Ballimaran, Chandni Chowk, Sadar Bazar, Matia Mahal, Karawal Nagar and Seelampur assembly seats. AAP has fielded Manish Sisodia from Jangpura assembly seat and in such a situation, Owaisi can spoil the game of Manish Sisodia.
From Babarpur, AAP has given ticket to its minister Gopal Rai while from Okhla, AAP’s prominent Muslim face Amanullah Khan is contesting. In the last assembly elections, AAP has got a lot of help from the Muslim vote bank and this vote bank has played a big role in your big victory. This time in the assembly elections, Owaisi can spoil the game of both AAP and Congress parties on Muslim dominated seats. Owaisi’s aggressive strategy may prove costly for both these parties. BJP is expected to benefit from the division of Muslim vote bank.
