America Winter Snowstorm: Normal life has been badly affected due to the snow storm in America. Due to heavy snowfall and icy rain, lakhs of people are confined to their homes. Snow has accumulated on the roads due to which people have died in accidents. The snow storm has hit more than a dozen states of America. More than 60 million people have been affected from Kansas in Central America to New Jersey on the East Coast.

More than 175,000 people from Missouri to Virginia were without power as of Monday afternoon, according to tracking websites Poweroutage.us and FlightAware. More than 2,400 flights were canceled and thousands of planes were delayed due to the snow storm. Rail travel was also badly affected due to the storm. National Railway Passenger Corporation has canceled more than 50 trains. At least four people have died and dozens more have been injured in storm-related traffic accidents.

The conditions are such that, up to 18 inches of snowfall has been recorded in Chapman and St. George, Kansas, while Cameron, Missouri and Mason, West Virginia have received more than 10 inches of snowfall. According to the Meteorological Department, due to the storm the temperature in many areas can go up to -18 degrees. Snowfall, cold wind and continuously falling temperatures have made travel conditions dangerous in some parts of the country.

People were requested to stay in their homes
Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear has urged people to stay home. A warning has also been issued that up to half an inch of snow may accumulate in some areas and trees may fall due to strong winds. Rain and snow continue in Kansas.
