BJP is buying votes, leaders are embezzling money given to voters: Aam Aadmi Party

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) alleged that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is buying votes before the Delhi Assembly elections. AAP claimed that BJP state unit leaders had also embezzled “vote buying money”.

Addressing a press conference, Aam Aadmi Party Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh alleged that the BJP has allotted Rs 10,000 per voter to its leaders for vote buying but only a fraction of the money has reached the intended voters.

“Instead of distributing the entire amount, BJP leaders gave only Rs 1,000 or Rs 1,100 to voters and kept the remaining Rs 9,000 with themselves,” Singh claimed. There was no immediate reaction from the BJP on the allegations.

AAP convenor and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, in a post on X, accused the BJP of relying on “buying votes” and “money” to win elections.

Taking a dig at BJP, Kejriwal said on ‘X’, “The party that abuses is losing the Delhi elections badly. That’s why now she wants to contest elections by buying votes with money.

Former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia alleged in a post on ‘X’, “BJP has crossed all limits of fraud in Delhi elections. The top leaders of this abusive party sent Rs 10,000 for distribution but to earn money the leaders kept Rs 9,000 and distributed only Rs 1,100.

Sisodia said, “Delhi people, if they come to you asking for votes, ask them ‘where is the remaining Rs 9,000’?”

Let us tell you that voting for the 70-member Assembly in Delhi will be held on February 5 and counting of votes will be done on February 8.
