According to the Panchang, this time the Sun will enter Capricorn on the morning of 14 January. Due to which the festival of Makar Sankranti will traditionally be celebrated on 14 January. Therefore, it would be auspicious to celebrate Lohri festival a day before it i.e. on Monday, 13th January.
Auspicious time to burn Lohri –
Lighting the fire during Agni Pradosh period on the holy day of Lohri is considered special. This year the sunset will be at 5.45 pm on the day of Lohri. In such a situation, the time from sunset to two hours is considered very auspicious for worshiping Lohri and lighting the fire of Lohri. This year, the auspicious Choghadiya Muhurta on Lohri is from 5.44 pm to 7.25 pm. It is considered best to perform puja in this Muhurta.
