Jammu, January 14 (IANS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated the Z-Morh Tunnel in Sonamarg area of Jammu and Kashmir. Due to this, the local people are very happy that now tourists will come all year round and their employment will continue.
On the occasion of the inauguration, the Prime Minister said, “I just want to say that the distances have now vanished, we should dream together, take resolutions and achieve success. A local resident said, “We want to express our gratitude to PM Modi for gifting us the Z-Morh Tunnel. The pain we were facing since 1990 has been relieved today. Z-Morh Tunnel The areas of Ladakh and Kargil will greatly benefit from this.”
He said that this will greatly benefit the local people and the pain of Kashmir will now turn into happiness, which we have been experiencing since the 90s. With this tunnel, Ladakh and Kargil will become one.
Another local resident said that this is PM Modi’s first gift to the people of Kashmir after the formation of the elected government. He said, “This is the first visit of our Prime Minister after the formation of the elected government and his first gift to Kashmir, especially Ganderbal district, is the inauguration of the Z-Morh Tunnel. This initiative will facilitate the Amarnath Yatra visitors and promote tourism. Will give.
The project will create employment opportunities for local youth and help transform the region from a “terrorism valley” to a “tourism valley” as promised by PM Modi.
The total 6.5 km long, two-lane Z-turn tunnel will bypass the dangerous section of the Srinagar-Sonamarg highway, which is prone to avalanches and heavy snowfall during the winter months.
