This festival is dedicated to Lord Ganesha. Devotees observe the fast on this day. They worship Ganapati duly and also keep fasts etc.
According to the Panchang, Sakat Chaturthi falling in the month of Magh is also called Sakat Chauth and Til Chaturthi. Which will be celebrated on Friday, 17th January this year, so today we are telling you the method of worship, so let us know.
Perform fast and puja according to the rituals –
Let us tell you that on the day of Sakat Chaturthi, wake up early in the morning and take bath, after that wear clean clothes. Now take water and rice in hand and resolve to fast and worship. Follow the rules of fasting throughout the day. Chant Shri Ganeshay Namah mantra in your mind. Now in the evening, before moonrise, worship Lord Ganesha duly and apply Tilak to Ganesha with Kumkum.
After this wear a garland of flowers. Light a lamp of cow ghee. Offer things like Abeer, Gulal, Roli, Janeu etc. Also chant the mantra Om Gan Ganpatayai Namah during the puja. Offer turmeric laced Durva to Lord Ganesha, after this offer fruits and sweets as per your wish and perform the ritual aarti. When the moon rises, worship the Moon God, offer water, and after completing your fast in this way, eat your food.
