Israel attacks Gaza
Tel Aviv: Gaza’s health ministry claimed Thursday that at least 72 people have been killed in Israeli attacks since the ceasefire deal was announced. In previous conflicts, both sides have stepped up military action in the final hours before a ceasefire comes into effect to show their strength.
The number of dead is high
Gaza’s health ministry said the figures only reflected bodies brought to two hospitals in Gaza City after Thursday’s attacks, adding that the actual number was much higher. “Yesterday was a bloody day and today is even bloodier,” said Zaheer al-Wahidi, head of the ministry’s registration department.
What did PM Netanyahu say?
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said his cabinet would not meet to ratify a ceasefire agreement until Hamas ends a “last-minute crisis”.
