CM Yogi was addressing the program of Constitution Pride Campaign (My Constitution-My Self-Respect) organized by BJP Scheduled Morcha in Gorakhpur on Monday. He said that with what guise Congress leader Rahul Gandhi goes around with the Constitution and fools the public. Congress did not miss any opportunity which was tantamount to strangulating the Constitution of India. Made amendments after amendments. But Congress never tried to ensure that Scheduled Castes, Tribes and Backward Castes get rights.
During his address, the Chief Minister questioned the leaders of Congress and SP as to why there is no reservation in admission and jobs for the youth belonging to Scheduled Castes, Tribes or Backward Castes in Aligarh Muslim University or Jamia Millia University. Why do their leaders become silent on the question of reservation here? He said that Samajwadi Party is also like Congress. Remember, the Medical College of Kannauj was named after Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar, the Samajwadi Party government removed the name. When our government came, the medical college was again named after Baba Saheb. When Akhilesh Yadav became the Chief Minister of the state in 2012, he had earlier announced that we would demolish the monuments built by Baba Saheb and all the great men of social justice. Then the Bharatiya Janata Party had said that the BJP is ready to give a befitting reply against the proponents of social justice and against every hand that is raised.
The Chief Minister said that the Constitution is the self-respect of the citizens of any sovereign nation. The Constitution is a symbol of the respect and self-respect of the 140 crore Indians, tying the entire India together from North to South, from East to West. This Constitution made by Baba Saheb recognized India as the world’s supreme democracy on the basis of constitutional values. He said that Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar was a great man. Suffered personal insult. But he never allowed his personal passions to come to the fore in the development of the nation. His thinking was that there should be public welfare and welfare of the nation.
CM said that the first government formed after independence in the country did not give respect to a great man like Baba Saheb. In 1952, Congress tried its best to defeat Baba Saheb Ambedkar in the elections. When Baba Saheb tried to contest again in the by-election in 1954, Congress disbanded his assistant and made him contest against Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that Congress built big memorials of its leaders but did not allow even a single memorial of Baba Saheb to be built. Whereas under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, five important places associated with Baba Saheb are being developed in accordance with the international fame as Panchtirtha.
CM Yogi said that this occasion is important for us. On January 26, 75 years are going to be completed since the implementation of the Constitution of India. We all will have to introspect on this journey of these 75 years and for this we will have to express our gratitude to Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar. He said that under the leadership of PM Modi, one house each has been built for 56 lakh poor people in Uttar Pradesh. One toilet has been built in every house of 2.25 crore poor people. 10 crore poor people are getting the benefit of Ayushman Bharat scheme. 15 crore poor people are getting the benefit of free ration facility. According to Baba Saheb’s intention, everyone is getting the benefits of the schemes without any discrimination.
