Tumkur, January 22 (IANS). Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwara said in Tumkur on Wednesday that strict steps would be taken to stop microfinance exploitation in the state.
State Home Minister G. Parameshwara assured that the police have already initiated action in cases of microfinance exploitation and harassment. Speaking to reporters in Tumakuru, he said that if any such harassment incident comes to light in Tumakuru district, action will be taken. He also mentioned that in connection with the suicide of a woman in Tiptur, steps have been taken against the culprits.
Yes. Parameshwara shared his understanding of the ideology of the Congress Party and emphasized the importance of service and sacrifice. He reminded that many Congress members had sacrificed their properties and made many sacrifices during the freedom struggle. However, such spirit of sacrifice has diminished in today’s society.
The senior Congress leader also highlighted the contribution of Shivkumar Swamy, who pioneered a new form of social service in the country. He said he believed in combining the ideals of food and education donations to build better citizens for the future. He stressed the importance of teaching culture, tradition and religion from an early age to prepare good citizens. Their unique service is worth remembering.
Regarding the day of “Dassoha” (service to others), the minister said the government will discuss with the Chief Minister to take a final decision. Apart from this, he also mentioned the plan to allocate funds in the upcoming budget to install the statue of Shivakumar Swamy at his birthplace after discussion with the Chief Minister.
