Jerusalem: On one hand, the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas continues, while on the other hand, the Israeli army seems to be fully active. Israeli security forces have killed two Palestinian terrorists who carried out a deadly attack on a bus in the West Bank earlier this month. The Israeli Army said on Thursday that last night the two terrorists had an encounter with soldiers in a building in the village of Burkin in the West Bank, in which both were killed. The army said one soldier sustained minor injuries during the encounter.

What did Hamas say?

The Israeli military said Mohammed Nazzal and Katiba al-Shalabi were linked to the Islamic Jihad terrorist group. Terrorist organization Hamas issued a statement claiming that both the men were members of its armed wing. Hamas has also praised the attack on the bus.

Hamas and Islamic Jihad are allies who sometimes carry out attacks together. On January 6, three people were killed and six others were injured in an attack on a bus carrying Israelis. Israel captured the West Bank in the 1967 Middle East war. Palestinians still consider it their part.
