The BJP on Sunday accused AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal of making fake calls to mislead voters in various constituencies including the New Delhi constituency and claimed that the BJP had canceled their votes.
Addressing a press conference, BJP MP Pravesh Verma played audio recording of a similar call, in which a person was heard saying, “Your vote has been cut by the BJP. You will ensure that you get your vote back , “And urged the receiver to support the Aam Aadmi Party.
He said, “Fake calls are being made to people, in which it is being said that the BJP will eliminate all the AAP schemes. It is a sheer lie.” He also wondered how the party received “confidential voter data”. Verma said, “Apart from the Election Commission of India, this data is not made available to anyone. How Kejriwal got the contact list of voters? It should be investigated.”
The new Delhi candidate of BJP for the assembly elections also accused AAP of distributing Rs 500 wrapped in a calendar in slums. He claimed that three people have been arrested in this regard. There was no immediate response from the AAP or the Delhi Police on the allegations. He said that he has filed a complaint with the Election Commission and his party demands an inquiry into the case.
BJP leader and party spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi, who was present at the press conference, welcomed the US Supreme Court’s decision to extradite India, accused of 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. Trivedi said, “The government under Modi’s leadership is committed to fighting terrorism. The decision to hand over Tahwwur Rana to India is welcome to all of us.” Trivedi accused the AAP and the Congress of supporting the activities that indirectly protected terrorism. Referring to Afzal Guru, the mastermind of the 2001 Parliament attack, he alleged, “Atishi’s parents were among those demanding ‘Shama Yagya’ (forgiveness rituals) for Afzal Guru.”
