Ravana had taken the help of his maternal uncle Marich to kidnap Sita. Marich knew the art of changing his appearance. Marich became a golden deer and started roaming in the forest. When Mother Sita saw this deer, her Vasalya awakened. He asked Lord Shri Ram to bring that deer to him. Lord Shri Ram ran after the deer to catch it. The deer was running away and Lord Shri Ram was running behind it.
Lord Shri Ram had understood that this was not an ordinary deer but an illusive demon, hence he thought that it would not be right to leave this demon like this. Lord Shri Ram kept running after this demon to end his illusion. Ultimately the arrow of Lord Shri Ram hit Marich. When Marich was hit by the arrow, Marich came back to his true form but even after coming in his true form, Marich cheated by asking for help in the voice of Lord Shri Ram. When this voice reached the ears of Goddess Sita and Lakshman ji, Sita ji became very scared.
Lakshman ji understood that this was some illusion, but Sita ji did not agree. Lakshman ji tried to convince Sita ji, but Sita ji remained firm on her decision. Ultimately, on the orders of Sita ji, Lakshman ji left to help Shri Ram, but Lakshman ji was worried about Goddess Sita that if both of them went into the forest, some other elusive demon might harm Sita ji, so he went. -A divine line was formed encircling the hut in a circle, which is known as ‘Lakshman Rekha’.
Lakshman ji followed celibacy during his exile and used to do devotion, yoga and meditation every day, which infused a wonderful energy within him. Lakshman ji had created Lakshman Rekha with the power of his yoga and meditation. In the making of Lakshman Rekha, such divine mantras were chanted, the knowledge of which was not known even to many knowledgeable people, hence the line created by the integration of Lakshman ji’s energy and the energy of the universe was very amazing. Also, Laxman’s love and dedication made him a man with amazing qualities. Only Sita ji could cross this line because Shri Ram and Sita ji had also followed these rules during their exile.
Ravana is considered a great sage but his arrogance, injustice and tendency to exploit the helpless reduced his greatness. Along with this, Ravana did not respect women and being his wife, he had relations with other women, hence the energy contained inside him was becoming negative, due to which Ravana did not have the power to cross the Lakshman Rekha.
