New Delhi. While on one hand Yogi and Modi government have made better arrangements for the crores of devotees coming to Maha Kumbh, on the other hand the airlines companies have created havoc. For the Mahakumbh Amrit Snan falling on Mauni Amavasya, Basant Panchami and Magh Purnima, airline companies have increased the air tickets from Delhi and Mumbai to Prayagraj so much that one can travel abroad at a cheaper rate. Taking cognizance of the news of skyrocketing prices of air tickets, the Union Aviation Ministry has called a meeting of airlines companies.
Talking about normal days, the flight ticket from Delhi to Prayagraj costs around Rs 8 to 10 thousand. Whereas the fare from Mumbai to Prayagraj is around Rs 10 to 15 thousand. But the airfare to Prayagraj for the dates of Amrit Snan has reached Rs 50 to 60 thousand. Flight tickets from Delhi to Prayagraj on Basant Panchami day on 3rd February are available for Rs 50,000. Whereas the flight ticket price from Mumbai to Prayagraj ranges between Rs 50,000 to Rs 60,000. Whereas on February 3, the flight fare from Delhi to London is between Rs 30,000 to Rs 37,000 while the ticket to Singapore is available for Rs 24 to 25 thousand.
Giving information in this regard, the Civil Aviation Ministry has said that steps are being taken to rationalize the air fares for flights to Prayagraj. In view of Maha Kumbh, the number of flights has been increased to meet the increasing traffic demand. Meanwhile, amid concerns over rising air fares, aviation regulator (DGCA) officials held a meeting with airline representatives last week and asked them to introduce more flights and rationalize ticket prices.
