Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump committed to work towards a ‘reliable’ partnership, in which the main goal would be to increase India-US cooperation in trade, energy and defense sectors. The two leaders spoke on the phone on Monday.
According to a release, Modi and Trump discussed global issues, including the situation in West Asia and Ukraine, and reiterated the commitment to work together to promote global peace, prosperity and security. It said that the two leaders agreed to meet soon.
The Prime Minister said in his post on the social media forum ‘X’, “It was very happy to talk to his dear friend President Donald Trump. He congratulated him for his historical second term. “He said,” We are committed to mutually beneficial and reliable partnership. We will work together for the welfare and global peace, prosperity and security of our people.
It is believed that this phone was made by India. A statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said that the two leaders reiterated the commitment to “mutually beneficial and reliable partnership”.
It said, “He discussed various aspects of widespread bilateral global strategic partnership and measures to advance it, including the fields of technology, trade, investment, energy and defense.”
