New Delhi. A major accident occurred in the ongoing Mahakumbh in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, late on Wednesday, January 29, due to a stampede. So far 30 devotees have died in this painful incident, while more than 90 people have been injured. The accident occurred on the Akhara road of Sangam coast, when the huge crowd broke the barricading and caused a stampede.
In the evening, the state government gave official information on the incident. During this, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath became emotional and expressed his condolences to the bereaved families.

How did the accident happen?
CM Yogi Adityanath said that a large number of devotees were bathing and waiting for Brahma Muhurta on Wednesday morning. Meanwhile, a large crowd broke the barricading on the Akhara road and a stampede occurred.

CM said, “This incident is very unfortunate. 30 devotees have died in this accident, while more than 90 people were injured. 36 injured are undergoing treatment in the hospital, while the rest have been taken to their families home. Teams of administration, police, NDRF and SDRF are engaged in relief work. ”
CM Yogi became emotional
CM Yogi Adityanath expressed deep grief over the incident and said that the administration has been engaged in relief and rescue work since the accident. He said that soon after the accident, the administration made a green corridor and took the injured to the hospital.
He said, “This incident is very heartbroken. The state government stands with the victim families. Proper arrangements have been made for the treatment of all the injured. ”
Questions raised on security system
After this incident in Mahakumbh, questions are being raised on the security system. There was additional pressure on the administration due to the huge crowd of devotees, but the situation became uncontrollable after the barricading broke.
The government and the administration have ordered an inquiry and it is being ascertained what should be the reason behind this accident and how to stop such incidents in future.
Security increased in Mahakumbh
After the incident, the administration has tightened and tightened in Mahakumbh. Additional police forces have been deployed on the Sangam coast and Akhara route, so that there is no further untoward.
Freedom families will get compensation
The government has announced financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh to the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 to the injured.
