Ferozepur A horrific road accident occurred on Friday on the Ferozepur-Fazilka highway in Punjab. Seven people died in this accident, while several others were injured. The condition of eight of these is said to be critical.
A standing canter near village Goluka Mor was hit by a pickup van coming from behind. There were more than 15 waiters in the pickup, who were going towards Jalalabad.
Looking at the pictures from the scene, the magnitude of the accident can be gauged. The front part of the pickup van has been completely shattered. According to eyewitnesses, there was a scream after the accident. He informed the police. According to people, the canter that was hit was spoiled.
The accident took place near the village of Golu of Gurharashay subdivision.
Sadar police and road safety force teams reached the spot as soon as the incident was reported. The injured were immediately admitted to hospitals in Gurharashay, Jalalabad and Ferozepur, while some seriously injured were referred to Guru Gobind Singh Medical College of Faridkot.
The bodies of people who lost their lives in the accident have been kept in the morcha of Jalalabad Civil Hospital. According to the police, the relatives of the deceased are being informed.
The police have registered a case and the injured have been admitted to the nearest hospital. The cause of the accident is being investigated.
Earlier on December 27, a horrific road accident occurred in Bathinda, Punjab. 8 people were killed in this accident, while 18 people were injured.
