Voting will be held on Wednesday 5 February for the Delhi Assembly elections. There is a tough fight between Aam Aadmi Party, BJP and Congress in this election. However, bad news is coming for the Aam Aadmi Party just before the election. A case has been registered in Haryana against AAP national convenor and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. In fact, this case against Arvind Kejriwal has been recorded for his statement of ‘poisoning the water of Yamuna’.
Case filed in these sections
An FIR has been lodged against Arvind Kejriwal at the Shahabad police station in Haryana. A person named Jagmohan Manchanda has filed a case against Kejriwal. According to the information, Arvind Kejriwal gave a statement of poisoning Haryana in the water of Yamuna river. Now the police have registered a case against Kejriwal in this case under sections 192, 196 (1), 197 (1), 248 (a), 299 of BNS.
What did Kejriwal say?
According to PTI, Arvind Kejriwal alleged that the BJP is trying to keep the people of Delhi thirsty by doing ‘dirty politics’. He had said- “In Haryana, BJP people are mixing poison in water and are sending it to Delhi. If the people of Delhi drink this water, many people will die. Can there be more disgusting than this?” The Haryana government had said to file a case on this charge of Kejriwal. At the same time, the Election Commission had also asked Arvind Kejriwal to provide evidence in support of its claims of Haryana being poisoned by the Yamuna river.
Election schedule in Delhi
Voting will be held on Wednesday 5 February for the assembly elections in Union Territory of Delhi. The assembly elections for 70 seats in Delhi will be held on February 5 in the same phase. At the same time, the result of the election will be released on 8 February 2025.
