The Congress on Thursday moved a stay motion in the Lok Sabha, demanding a discussion on the expulsion of more than 100 Indian citizens by the Basken State America.
The proposal submitted by Gaurav Gogoi, Deputy Leader of Congress in the Lok Sabha said, “More than 100 Indian citizens, who are mainly related to Punjab, Haryana and Gujarat, have been exposed by the United States Government under extremely painful and humiliating circumstances. The persons existing in the exemption include 25 women, 12 ministers and 79 men have been deported in the fetters, which raise serious questions on their human honor and rights. “
The proposal was added, “This House should discuss the issue immediately so that there is no inhumanity with our people and the dignity of every Indian, whether in the country or abroad, remains.”
On Wednesday, an American C-17 military aircraft reached Amritsar with 104 Indian immigrants. This was the first batch of Indians expelled by the Donald Trump administration, which he pledged to implement during the swearing -in last month.
PTI sources said, “33-33 out of the expelled people are from Haryana and Gujarat, 30 from Punjab, 3-3 from Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh, and 2 from Chandigarh.”
The US Air Force C-17 Globemaster aircraft landed at Amritsar Airport at 1:55 pm. This action took place at a time when Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to visit Washington DC in a few days and will discuss widely with Trump.
The expelled people were interrogated by various government agencies inside the airport terminal building, including Punjab Police and various state and central intelligence agencies to ensure that they have no criminal records.
Sources said, after completing all the formalities at around 6:45 pm, the exiled citizens of Punjab were sent to their hometowns in police vehicles. Similarly, illegal immigrants from Haryana were taken to their original places by the state police.
