Bengaluru Metro Fare Hike: Bomb of inflation on those living in Congress -ruled Karnataka capital Bengaluru, the journey of metro became expensive; Earlier bus fares were increased, Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited BMRCL Hikes Metro Fare Know How Much You have to pay

Bengaluru. The first electricity, water rates increased in the Congress -ruled Karnataka. Then the fares of government buses were increased by 15 percent. Now the metro fares in Bangalore, the capital of Karnataka, have increased by about 50 percent. This increase in the fares of Bangalore Metro has come into force from today. This fare will vary for peak and non-peak time. The maximum fare in Bengaluru Metro will now be Rs 90. It was 60 rupees earlier. At the same time, a balance of 90 rupees will also have to be kept in the pre-paid card of the metro. Earlier it was 50 rupees. The special thing is that in January itself, BJP MP from Bangalore Central PC Mohan posted social media that the proposed 45 percent increase in the fare of the metro has been stopped. He had said that the Modi government at the Center has sought a report from Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation i.e. BMRCL before taking a decision in this regard.

Now BMRCL decided to increase the fare of the metro on Saturday and implemented it from today. BMRCL says that the committee, which fixed the fare of Bangalore Metro, presented a recommended recommendation on 16 December 2024. BMRCL has to accept the recommendation of the committee that fixes the fare under the Bengaluru Metro Rail Act. In such a situation, BMRCL Board has decided to increase the fare of Bengaluru Metro from 9 February. Now 20 rupees will have to be paid for 4 kilometers from metro in Bengaluru. At the same time, 6 kilometers will be charged 30 rupees, 8 km 40 rupees, 50 rupees up to 10 kilometers, 60 rupees up to 12 kilometers, 70 km up to 70 rupees 25 kilometers for 25 km and Rs 90 for 30 km.

BMRCL has said that there will be a 5 % discount in Bengaluru Metro fares on using smart cards during peak hours. Off peak hours will have a discount of 10 percent fare. At the same time, traveling with smart cards on Sunday and holidays will get 10 percent fare discount. Non -peak hours will be from 8 am, then from noon to 4 pm and from Monday to Friday from 9 pm to the metro service. The increase in the fare of Bangalore Metro is sure to affect the pockets of millions. Electricity and water have also become expensive since the Congress government in Karnataka. Now the price hike for transport can also cause trouble for the public.
