Political News Desk !!! Darbara Singh (English: Darbara Singh, born- 10 February, 1916, Jalandhar; Death- March 10, 1990, Chandigarh) was a politician of the Indian National Congress and former Chief Minister of Punjab. He was the Chief Minister of Punjab from 6 June 1980 to October 10, 1983.
Sardar Darbara Singh was born at a place called Jandiala Manjaki, in Jalandhar district of Punjab. His father’s name was Sardar Dalip Singh Johal, who was from a rich Jat Zamindar family. Darbara Singh Singh received education at Khalsa College, Amritsar. He also went to jail for participating in the Quit India Movement between 1942 and 1945. In 1946, Darbara Singh again joined the freedom movement under the aegis of the Indian National Congress.
