A bus going from western Nepal to Prayagraj crashed on Sunday, injuring 40 pilgrims. The accident occurred at 500 km west of Kathmandu in Babai area of Bheriganga Municipality in Surkhet district at 5.30 pm.
According to the police, the accident occurred when 40 passengers were going to Mahakumbh in a bus from Surkhet in Karnali district. Police said police personnel along with local volunteers did rescue work at the accident site and the injured were admitted to Kohlpur Medical College for treatment. He told that the condition of six of these passengers is said to be critical.
