New Delhi, 11 February (IANS). Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday met Singapore President Therman Shanmugratnaam and discussed the possible areas of cooperation.
Biswa Sarma arrived in Singapore on Monday to attend the discussion with various stakeholders before the upcoming Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit. During this, he was welcomed by Dr. Shilpak Ambule, India High Commissioner in Singapore at Changi Airport.
Inaugurating his formal programs of the day, Chief Minister Sarma met the President of the Republic of Republic of Republic of Republic of India to discuss the important role of Assam in advancing the India-Singapore comprehensive strategic partnership. At the same time, the Chief Minister accepted Singapore’s partnership for the upcoming Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit.
Chief Minister Sarma also met Singapore Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan and called for the detection of the areas of mutual cooperation to deepen the relations between Assam and Singapore to further India’s Act East policy.
Chief Minister Sarma held a meeting with leaders of 8 semiconductor companies, including ASMPT, AEM, Basi, Temasake, Silicon Box, Nito Decco Corp, Heller Industries and Meenhart Group.
CM Sarma invited these business leaders to detect opportunities in the electronic city of Assam in Jagrod and to pursue the semiconductor ecosystem, a strong part of the India Singapore relationship.
Chief Minister Sarma discussed with Lo Chera Ek, CEO of Township Warticle in Surbana Jurong to discuss the ongoing projects in Assam. He also discussed ways to deepen cooperation for the construction of future cities and industrial townships in Assam.
CM Sarma also visited the campus of ITE Education Services and interacted with CEO Suresh Natarajan and his team and understood his development view in the field of technical education.
Chief Minister Sarma also reviewed his aerospace, smart manufacturing and electronic laboratories, which are capable of learning students to learn industry-specific skills.
Chief Minister Sarma expressed his plan to promote cooperation between Assam Kaushal University and ITE.
The meeting also discussed ways to avail the expertise of ITE in setting up World Skill Center in Assam.
CM Sarma was affected by the applied and the industry-taiyar courses introduced by the institute in the fields of health sciences and service, design and media, electronics and ICT, engineering and hospitality and tourism.
