Owaisi on Waqf amendment bill: AIMIM chief and MP Asaduddin Owaisi has expressed strong opposition to the Waqf Amendment Bill as unconstitutional. He said that instead of protecting the Waqf properties, this bill has been brought from the Muslim community to snatch them.
He said that this bill violates Articles 14, 15 and 29 of the Constitution. According to him, this bill has been brought not to save Waqf properties, but for the purpose of ruining them and snatching them from Muslims. Owaisi called it a direct attack on the rights of the Muslim community and said that his party strongly condemns the bill. He also said that the Lok Sabha speaker has assured that 70% of the disagreements of MPs will be included in the edited edition Bill.
Significantly, opposition is also being seen in Muslim organizations and political parties regarding this bill. Owaisi demanded that the government immediately withdraw the bill.
