Politician Dr banda Prakash Biography: Dr. Banda Prakash is a prominent Indian politician who has presented his views on various Bills and policies. For example, he has shared his views on the ‘National Food Technology, Entrepreneurship and Management Bill 2019’. Additionally, he has also shared his views on the ‘Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Bill’. He has also given his views to draw attention to the rising level of air pollution. He is the President of Telangana Mudiraj Mahasabha. He belongs to the Bharat Rashtra Samithi in Telangana. Banda Prakash was unanimously elected the Deputy Speaker of the Telangana Legislative Council on 12 February 2023.

Dr. Banda Prakash was born on 18-02-1954 in Warangal, Telangana, home to Satyanarayana and Shakuntala. He completed his PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) degree from Kakatiya University Warangal in 1996. She married Anita Prakash Banda. His profession is a teacher and academician, political and social worker and trade unionist.

He started his political journey with the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS). He was an active student leader since his high school days. When the Telangana movement was at its peak in 1969, an active student leader supported the candidate contesting the election on the banner of Telangana Praja Committee. He wrote three books in Telugu and was the author and co-editor of three books.
From 1981–1986 he was the city councilor of Warangal Municipal Corporation. From 1981–1984 he was the Vice President of Warangal Municipal Corporation. From 1982–1985, he was a member of the Kakatiya Urban Development Authority (Gyank.). By 1991–1994, he was a member of the Management Board at the Kakatiya University in Warangal. In 2018, he was a member of the Finance Committee of Kakatiya University, Warangal. He is the President of Mudiraj Mahasabha, Telangana.
In 2018, he was elected a Rajya Sabha MP (MP) from Telangana. As of 2018-2019, he was a member of the Industry Committee of the Rajya Sabha on the ancient monument and archaeological site and relic (amendment) bill. In 2019, he was a member of the Labor Member Committee of the Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. In 2018, he was a member of the Committee (PCMRS) for the provisions of computers to the members of the Rajya Sabha. In 2019, he was a member of the Committee on Welfare of Other Backward Classes (OBC). In 2019, he was a member of the Finance Committee on the Surrogacy (Regulation) Bill and was a member of the National Board for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. Currently from 12 February 2023, Telangana is the Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Council. He is also a member of the Telangana Legislative Council since 22 November 2021. Earlier, he represented Telangana from 23 March 2018 to 4 December 2021 and served as a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha. He won voting by 33 votes.
