Larry Tesler (English: Lawrence Gordon Tesler, born- 24 April 1945; Death- 17 February 2020) was a US computer scientist. He was the explorer of the ‘Cut’ (Cut), ‘Copy’, ‘Paste’ user interfaces to be mainly used in the computer. Larry Tesler is known for many major research regarding user interfaces.
Larry Tesler prepared a Gypsy Text Editor in PARC in association with Tim Mot. In the same Gypsy Text Editor, he prepared a modless method to copy and move the text. It was from here that the cut, copy and paste were informed. In his CV, Larry Tesler wrote that he is the initial inventor of modles editing and cut, copy, paste. Although he also wrote in the CV that he was accidentally called Father of Graphical User Inteface for McCinatush, but he is not. Larry Tesler developed cut, copy and paste at PARC itself. However, the concept of the cut, copy and paste later came for computer interfaces and text editors.
