New Delhi. Indian Overseas Congress President Sam Pitroda seems to be surrounded by the statement of his ‘China love’ and advised to India about China. The BJP has also targeted Rahul Gandhi and the Congress sharply criticizing Sam Pitroda’s statement. At the same time, seeing the matter catching up, the Congress has shied away from Sam Pitroda’s statement coming on the backfoot. Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh says that this is not his party’s views. Pitroda has given a statement that he does not understand the threat from China and India should not consider China as its enemy.
On Sam Pitroda’s statement, Jairam Ramesh, while clarifying on behalf of the Congress party, wrote on the social media post, “The alleged views expressed by Sam Pitroda on China are definitely not the views of the Indian National Congress. China remains the biggest challenge in our foreign policy, external security and economic sector. Our most recent statement on China was released on 28 January 2025. Jairam Ramesh tried to wrap the central government on the border dispute issue with China. He wrote, the Congress party has repeatedly questioned the Modi government’s perspective towards China. Which includes a clean chit given by the Prime Minister in public on 19 June 2020. It is also extremely unfortunate that Parliament is not being given an opportunity to discuss this situation and express collective resolutions to find an effective solution to these challenges.

Earlier, BJP MP and spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi had said that Sam Pitroda openly revealed the Congress party’s agreement with China. The serious thing is that the kind of thing that Sam Pitroda has said is a very deep shock on India’s identity, diplomacy and sovereignty. Rahul Gandhi has also made many similar statements abroad. I want to ask Rahul Gandhi questions that our 20 soldiers have been martyred in the Galwan and after that if such a language is spoken by your overseas chief, then it is an insult to the martyrs.
