Jayanarayan Vyas (English: Jai Narayan Vyas; born- 18 February, 1899, Jodhpur, Rajasthan; Death- 14 March, 1963, Delhi) was the leading freedom fighter of India, former Chief Minister of Rajasthan and famous politician of ‘Indian National Congress’. Due to his revolutionary activities, he was prisoned several times. After the independence of the country, Jayanarayan ji was the President of the ‘Provincial Congress Committee’ from 1956 to 1957. He also beautified the post of Chief Minister of Rajasthan.
Life introduction
Jayanarayan Vyas was born on 18 February 1899 in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. At this time the country was stuck in the chains of slavery. Jayanarayan Vyas was one of the major freedom fighters of Rajasthan. He was the first person to first raise his voice against the feudal shadow and emphasized the establishment of responsible rule in the princely states with the end of the ‘Jagirdari system’.
Family
Vyaj ji’s wife’s name was Mrs. Gaurja Devi Vyas. They have four children, one son and three daughters.
Editing work
In the year 1927, Jayanarayan Vyas became the editor -in -chief of ‘Tarun Rajasthan’ letter and in 1936 AD he started taking out a daily newspaper called ‘Akhand Bharat’ from Bombay.
Jail travel
Jayanarayan Vyas took part in revolutionary activities to bring freedom to the country and traveled several times. He was arrested for participating in the salt Satyagraha of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi.
Chief Minister
In 1948, Jayanarayan Vyas was made the Prime Minister of ‘Jodhpur Prajamandal’. From 1956 to 1957, he was also the President of the ‘Provincial Congress Committee’. He was the Chief Minister of Rajasthan from 1951 to 1954.
Death
Jayanarayan Vyas died on 14 March 1963 in Delhi. His birthplace in his honor, ‘Jai Narayan Vyas University’ is still operated in Jodhpur.
