The objective of the central government’s ambitious Prime Minister Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Project is to provide affordable health services to all citizens and reduce dependence on expensive branded medicines. In Burhanpur district of Madhya Pradesh, people are also benefiting from this scheme. Speaking to news agency IANS, people praised the plan.
The central government has run several schemes keeping in mind the common people. The Prime Minister Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Project is an ambitious scheme of the Central Government. Under this, many places of Jan Aushadhi Centers have been opened, where generic medicines are sold which are much cheaper than branded drugs.
Customer Sachin Patil, who came to buy the medicine, said, “Medicines here are quite cheap and quality. I have got a lot of relief compared to expensive medical stores.”
Another woman Deepika is a regular customer of Soni Jan Aushadhi Kendra. He said, “The medicines required for women and children are always available here. This center is proving to be a boon for our family.”
Pharmacist Dinesh Raut said, “We try to give the right medicine and correct information to every patient.”
Dheeraj Chauhan of District Hospital Management said, “We are trying to provide cheap and quality medicines to all patients.”
It is noteworthy that this scheme is seeing good impact in Burhanpur district. Three Jan Aushadhi Kendras are being operated here at the present time, while soon another new center is going to open.
Actually, two centers are in the district hospital Burhanpur, while one center is in the city council Shahpur. At the same time, a new center is going to start in Sheikhapur village soon. Thousands of people of the district are benefiting from Jan Aushadhi Kendras. The price of medicines at these centers is much lower than the market. This has brought great relief to lower and middle class families.
The new Jan Aushadhi Kendra, which opens in Sheikhapur, will get a big relief to the people of rural areas. This initiative is an important step towards making health services accessible and economical.
District Collector Bhavya Mittal said that the district administration will also promote the Jan Aushadhi Kendra so that the villagers can know about it. At the same time, online payment facilities will also be available at Jan Aushadhi Kendra soon.
