Rekha Gupta started her political journey with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) student organization Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). In 2007, as a councilor from North Pitampura, he worked on the development of basic facilities like libraries and parks in the region. He has also obtained a LLB degree and is the founder of an NGO named AAS. She lost the election of Mayor from AAP Shelley Oberoi in 2023.
50 -year -old Rekha Gupta, who became an MLA for the first time, was preferred against senior leaders in Delhi BJP because the party wanted a female leader to hold the post. After being elected the leader of the BJP Legislature Party, Rekha Gupta thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the party leadership and the people of Delhi for the responsibility given to him and said that every moment of his life would be spent in fulfilling this responsibility.
Rekha Gupta said that the responsibility she received as Chief Minister is also a moment of respect for the women of the country, who represent half the population of the country.

Earlier in the day, Rekha Gupta was elected the leader of the BJP Legislature Party at a meeting of newly elected MLAs. She will take oath as Chief Minister at a function held at Ramlila Maidan in the national capital.
Rekha Gupta earlier thanked the party and said that she would work with full honesty, integrity and dedication for the welfare of the people of Delhi.
He said, “I heartily thank the top leadership for believing in me and assigning the responsibility of the Chief Minister’s post. This belief and support have given me new energy and inspiration. I take a pledge that I am every Delhi I will work with full honesty, integrity and dedication for the welfare, empowerment and overall development of the citizen.
The BJP won the Aam Aadmi Party from power by winning 48 seats under the historic mandate.
